The poultry industry is one of the largest industries in Alabama, producing over one billion birds annually. providing more than 86,000 jobs, and a $15 billion impact on the state’s economy. The revenue generated from the poultry industry is in turn re-invested in financial institutions, used to purchase vehicles, homes and groceries. In fact, most of the revenue generated is spent at the local level. APEA strives to promote fair taxation and utility rates, environmental stewardship, membership development, safety and health, product promotion, adequate transportation, continuing industry education and public relations.

Mississippi Poultry Association
Poultry is Mississippi’s largest agricultural industry, with 50 processing plants, hatcheries, feed mills, and egg farms, as well as 1,700 family-run poultry farms around the state. Mississippi produces about 710 million birds per year, ranking it the sixth largest poultry producing state in the nation. Mississippi exports about 15-20% of its production to 65 countries around the globe. Mississippi Poultry Association represents all aspects of the industry.

Our mission is to foster the growth and sustainability of the poultry sector through a comprehensive approach that encompasses education, policy advocacy, and public relations. We represent poultry stakeholders in legislative matters, advocating for their best interests. Actively nurturing the next generation of poultry industry leaders by supporting higher education programs and youth initiatives. Through scholarships and legislative advocacy, we empower students pursuing poultry-related degrees and provide support to poultry growers and their families.
